NOMFEDTRASCO President Luzminda Escobidal expressed support for the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s (LTFRB) strict enforcement of roadworthiness tests starting September 1.

Escobidal noted that while transport groups previously requested strict inspections, enforcement by the agency had been inconsistent.

She emphasized that mandatory checks on tires, brakes, vehicle flooring, and overall engine condition are necessary to ensure passenger safety.

Escobidal urged both traditional jeepney operators and modernized fleet managers to comply with safety standards to prevent road accidents.
