The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) called on consumers in Mindanao to practice energy conservation, particularly during peak usage hours.
NGCP Mindanao Spokesperson Mae Roselle Curiano advised the public to manage electricity consumption carefully while regional grid reserves remain tight.
She noted that switching off and unplugging idle appliances helps reduce grid load, as electronics continue to consume power while on standby.
Curiano added that NGCP offices are leading conservation efforts internally by adjusting air conditioning use and turning off non-essential lights.
