House Deputy Speaker Janette Garin criticized defense maneuvers surrounding Vice President Sara Duterte’s ₱1.6-billion OVP and DepEd funds, describing them as procedural delays designed to divert public attention.
Garin asserted that an Impeachment Court provides the proper constitutional forum for the Vice President to address allegations and clear her name.
She clarified that impeachment proceedings focus specifically on determining whether a public official committed a betrayal of public trust.
Garin emphasized that both the House of Representatives and the Senate hold a constitutional obligation to provide transparency and clear answers directly to the public.
