The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro urged local communities to take immediate environmental protection initiatives rather than waiting solely for government action.

Integral Ecology Coordinator Donna Echalico emphasized that households should actively participate in tree planting around their properties to complement government environmental programs.

Echalico noted that global warming must be capped below 1.5°C to 2.0°C to prevent reaching irreversible environmental tipping points, stressing that collective community action remains vital.
