GANDA Natural Farming System Founder Luz Antiza Denuyo urged communities to move beyond ceremonial tree planting for graduation or marriage requirements by committing to long-term tree maintenance and monitoring.
Denuyo stated that multi-sectoral collaboration between government, religious organizations, and media can restore regional forest cover.
Pointing to her property in Pigsag-an—which was transformed from degraded grassland into a thriving forest plot—and referencing South Korea’s artificial forestry programs, Denuyo emphasized that ecosystem restoration is feasible with sustained community care.
