A Guidance Counselor of Capitol University (CU) Senior High School was declared dead after being struck by a truck along Gaabucayan Street, Barangay 22, at around 7 a.m. today.
According to reports, the victim was identified as Khryztel Faustine C. Catudio, of legal age, who was renting a boarding house in the said barangay.
Police authorities have taken into custody the driver of the YMC Cargo Truck, identified as Christopher Yamit Llido, a resident of Antipolo City, Rizal province.
Witness Jun Capito recounted that he saw the woman walking across the street when she suddenly stopped in the middle, assuming the large truck would halt to let her pass.
Bystanders noticed that the driver failed to see the pedestrian in the middle of the road, causing the collision that led to her being run over.
Police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
