Kabataan Partylist representative Cobbie Jan Canda characterized attempts to delay the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections as a “mini Charter Change” aimed at extending incumbent term limits.
Canda dismissed congressional arguments citing global financial strain and Middle East tensions as unconvincing, questioning why election funding is challenged when billions are lost to public corruption.
He reiterated that democratic processes and local representation must be protected.
