The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), through spokesperson PMAJ Emilita Simon, announced that two police officers accused of committing sexual assault against two police interns are currently held at the City Holding and Accounting Section.
The official clarified that the allegation remains a complaint while the victims are given adequate time to supplement their affidavits and investigation.
Consequently, the Women and Children Protection Desk and the City Investigation Detective Management Unit led talks with the victims to secure additional formal statements.
Following this development, authorities are awaiting the final decision from their regional office regarding the approval of the official recommendation filed against the two police personnel.
