CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Former Oro Chamber President Ray Talimio Jr. urged the government to keep the surplus power in Mindanao and not sell it to Visayas.
This comes amid the threat of shortage due to the breakdown of Unit 2 of the GNPower Kauswagan coal plant and the reissuance of a Yellow Alert by NGCP.
Data shows a shortage of 100 to 300 megawatts from this month until December. Talimio also called for the shutdown of coal plants by 2030 to shift to renewable energy.
