Legal expert Atty. Arturo Ubaub of ART and Partners clarified that the Senate Impeachment Court holds exclusive jurisdiction over the outcome of Vice President Sara Duterte’s trial, noting that invited retired chief justices serve only in an advisory role.

Ubaub added that while 12 to 13 votes are necessary to enforce a conviction, the Supreme Court can only intervene if clear constitutional due process violations occur.
