Although local jeepney drivers under the United Drivers Association (UNIDA) cancelled their participation in Monday’s nationwide transport strike to protect commuting workers, UNIDA President Joel Gabatan emphasized that their policy demands remain active.
Gabatan reiterated the group’s calls for a ₱2.00 base fare increase, the repeal of fuel excise taxes, and amendments to the Oil Deregulation Law.
He confirmed that UNIDA-affiliated jeepneys will continue operating standard routes across Cagayan de Oro.
