Former Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Norberto B. Gonzales cautioned that escalating rhetoric surrounding the West Philippine Sea is dangerous and risks overshadowing urgent domestic issues.
Gonzales stated that the Philippines is caught between competing global superpowers, advocating for diplomatic prudence over confrontation.
Despite his critique of current policy, Gonzales commended DND Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr., calling him the most capable cabinet member in the current administration due to his extensive legal background and administrative expertise.
