Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 10 Director Aljo Bendijo clarified that the recently implemented taxi fare increase is permanent rather than provisional, remaining in effect regardless of future fuel price fluctuations.
Under the approved structure, the flag-down rate for traditional taxis increases to ₱65, while the distance rate of ₱13.50 per succeeding kilometer and the ₱2.00 per-minute waiting time remain unchanged.
Bendijo reminded operators and drivers that official fare matrices must be displayed inside vehicles before taxi meters undergo physical recalibration.
