Xavier University Central Student Government President Luis Nicholai Wong criticized Congress for its failure to pass comprehensive anti-political dynasty legislation despite clear constitutional mandates and Supreme Court guidance regarding the Bangsamoro Electoral Code.
Wong pointed out that existing provisions prohibiting relatives only up to the second degree of consanguinity remain inadequate, as they allow political families to hold multiple offices concurrently across different local governments.
He reaffirmed the student government’s support for the “Dapat Isa Lang” initiative to enforce the constitutional ban.
