The Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology emphasized deeper identification of those responsible for the rising incidents of school shootings and violence in the country to prevent recurrence.

Chairman Atty. Ramil Gabao said this is not only about what should be done but also about determining “who committed the crime, what caused it, and who is accountable.”

The official stressed that criminologists have specialized knowledge in studying crime, criminal behavior, and victims that can be applied to preventing school violence.

Gabao also underscored the greater role of criminology in crafting policies and preventive measures for school security.
