MASADA National Convenor for Education and economist Joey Pelaez described the public disclosure of the Duterte couple’s personal bank transactions during the impeachment trial as a major smear campaign.
According to the official, the move created a false image and conditioned public perception by presenting total inflows and outflows dating back to 2007.
He clarified that this also exposed the hypocrisy of some lawmakers whose net worth and unexplained wealth are even greater than other senators and congressmen.
The official added that the true intent of the move was clearly to embarrass and block the Vice President from running in the 2028 elections.
