Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy’s spokesperson Janboy Actub addressed public concern after some sectors questioned the City Council’s move.
According to the official, the request for authorization for bank negotiation is not yet a finalized loan but only a step to assess the project’s feasibility.
He added that the effort aims to build a new government complex in Upper Carmen to ease congestion in Divisoria and improve public service.
The official clarified that the Technical Working Group is conducting studies to ensure the project will bring development and not burden the city.
