Continuous threat assessments in schools are needed to promptly identify dangers and possible risks that may lead to crime, according to Dr. Warren Corpuz of the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology.
The official made the statement amid successive school shooting incidents in the country that have affected the lives and safety of students and teachers.
According to the board member, criminologists can assist school administrators in identifying threats and providing advice to maintain peace and order within institutions.
He added that assessments are also important to understand the factors driving youth to commit crimes and to prevent similar incidents.
