Following the shooting incident inside a school in Tacloban City, the Alliance of Concerned Teachers Northern Mindanao urged the government and the Department of Education to take the education crisis seriously.
Roland S. Cruz explained that the incident is merely a reflection of the larger problems faced by students within learning facilities.
He emphasized that if the government is truly serious about protecting children, it must invest in both personnel and infrastructure to guarantee a safe learning environment.
Cruz reminded stakeholders that school security depends on proper attention and adequate funding for everyone’s safety.
The group insists that authorities must act immediately to prevent similar tragedies that have caused alarm in the academic sector.
