The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Northern Mindanao reiterated its call for structural wage increases rather than ceremonial activities during National Teachers’ Month.
ACT Northern Mindanao Coordinator Roland Cruz urged the government to implement a ₱50,000 entry-level salary for public school teachers and a ₱36,000 baseline for Salary Grade 1 personnel.
Cruz also criticized the realignment of ₱44.7 billion from the education budget toward flood control and confidential funds, calling for increased investments in classrooms and instructional materials.
