Alliance of Concerned Teachers Northern Mindanao Coordinator Roland Cruz condemned reported ₱16-billion budget reductions in public health and education line items under the 2027 National Budget proposal.
Cruz explained that budget cuts within the Department of Education restrict funding for classroom construction, school computerization, and new teacher recruitment.
He added that reductions in Department of Health allocations impair free medical services at public hospitals, calling on Congress to restore funding for essential social sectors.
