Kyle Chester Javier Cotacte of the group Akbayan Youth expressed grave concern over the ability of the Blue Ribbon Committee to conduct a fair investigation at this time.
According to him, senators who are already linked to the case should not participate in the deliberations, as they might only use their power to conceal their names.
Furthermore, the aforementioned individuals should ideally inhibit themselves to ensure the integrity of the Senate process.
At present, Cotacte also revealed that there is a strong possibility the new Senate leadership will create their own version of the report to replace the previous findings from past investigations.
Because of this, Akbayan hopes for genuine accountability and an uncompromised political process.
