The Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women demanded direct financial compensation rather than basic relief aid for farmers hit by recent typhoons and flooding.

Secretary General Cathy Estavillo criticized the ₱5,000 UPLIFT cash assistance program, citing restrictive requirements that require farmers to own specialized machinery to qualify.

She advocated for ₱50,000 in direct compensation payments to cover 50 to 70 percent of production costs and help families recover from accumulated debt.

Estavillo also called for strict accountability and investigations into government officials managing flood control funds.
