Geopolitical analyst Herman Tiu Laurel warned that aggressive rhetoric from Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. risks diplomatic strain with China and potential economic fallout.
Laurel pointed out that approximately 300,000 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China could be impacted by escalating geopolitical tensions.
He recommended adhering to the diplomatic approaches set by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Foreign Affairs over unilateral policy statements.
