Ateneo de Davao University Professor Dr. Christopher Maboloc characterized the arrest warrant issued against Vice President Sara Duterte following her posting of a P360,000 bail bond at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court as politically driven.
Dr. Maboloc noted that the court action coincided with ongoing Senate impeachment proceedings before the prosecution had established direct evidentiary links regarding confidential funds.
The professor described the court’s jurisdiction over the matter as legally complex, adding that the Vice President’s legal team will continue to challenge the proceedings through established judicial channels.
