No court has the authority to issue a Temporary Restraining Order against wage orders enacted by regional wage boards, clarified Ka Leody de Guzman, convenor of the labor coalition Artikulo Onse.

Commenting on the TRO issued by Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 152 halting the implementation of the ₱85 wage increase in the National Capital Region, De Guzman stressed that Article 126 of the Labor Code strictly forbids judicial interference in wage adjustment proceedings.

Describing the court’s order as a major legal blunder, he urged the tribunal to reverse its ruling, adding that the injunction demonstrates how government mechanisms continue to protect corporate profits at the expense of working families.
