The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro expressed pride following the Vatican’s historic appointment of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle as the first Filipino and Asian Dean of the College of Cardinals.
Spokesperson Fr. Der John Faborada stated that the appointment brings honor to the Catholic Church in the Philippines, noting that the Dean presides over cardinal meetings and leads the papal conclave during a papal vacancy.
The archdiocese invited the faithful to pray for Cardinal Tagle’s health and continued pastoral leadership.
