The City Government of Cagayan de Oro initiated intervention measures to cushion the agricultural sector against dry spell impacts.
City Agriculturist Engr. Bernie Daba stated that preparations began in December of last year through the procurement of irrigation equipment and inputs for local farmers and fisherfolk.
Daba confirmed that Mayor Klarex Uy approved the budget allocation and purchase requests to ensure farm lands remain workable throughout the high-temperature period, adding that city officials will hold regular consultations with affected farming communities.
