The city government of Cagayan de Oro will officially kick off its month-long Higalaay Festival 2026 celebration on August 6 with a grand launching event.
City Tourism Officer Marky Jalapadan announced that festivities will begin with a 4:00 AM holy mass, followed by the unveiling of the official promotional video and the Bulawanong Lamano (Golden Handshake) festival icon.
The launch will feature a performance by singer Darren Espanto, sponsored by official event partners. The evening schedule includes a fireworks display and a free concert headlined by popular rock band Itchyworms to officially open the month-long festivities.
