The Cagayan de Oro Press Club expressed sadness over Senator Marcoleta’s general statement claiming that many members of the media are paid.
According to Hanne Pisos, president of the organization, they have already held a board meeting to discuss the issue.
However, the majority of members decided not to release an official statement for now. Pisos clarified that despite their disappointment, they remain ready to implement due process for any complaint as long as sufficient evidence is presented.
She also acknowledged that it cannot be denied that some members of the press have been involved in alleged acceptance of payments.
