The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and local city officials are stepping up security protocols and organizing event schedules ahead of the upcoming Feast of Señor San Agustin.
Cathedral Rector Rev. Msgr. Raul Ricacho assured the public that police forces and the office of Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy are working closely to guarantee safety across all feast activities.
Msgr. Ricacho noted plans to expand the annual Fluvial Parade from Bugo to Opol, expecting at least 60 boats. The parade will temporarily dock at Isla de Oro due to ongoing repairs on the Duaw Park bridge.
Following a 4:15 PM mass, the traditional religious procession will proceed along its standard route covering Fernandez, Velez, Luna, and Capistrano streets before returning to the Cathedral.
