Nick Jabagat, Manager of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), assured the public that no major structural damages were recorded following the intensity 3 earthquake measured by their intensity meter at City Hall.
Based on the assessment conducted together with the City Planning Office, Office of the Building Official, and Engineering Department, authorities found no significant cracks in buildings or establishments.
Jabagat acknowledged that minor cracks were observed on some walls but clarified that these posed no serious concern.Given the findings, the official recommended that work and classes in the city resume as normal today.
He further emphasized that there is no cause for alarm, as inspections confirmed the safety of structures across the city.
