CEPALCO consumers may experience a slight increase in electricity rates in their September billing statement, according to CEPALCO Assistant Vice President Marilyn Chavez.
Chavez stated that the distribution utility dispatched power from the Minergy diesel plant to cover supply deficits and prevent rotating brownouts during the grid-wide Red Alert.
Rising fuel prices further contributed to overall generation costs. CEPALCO urged the public to practice energy efficiency to help manage household utility expenses.
