Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro Social Action Center Coordinator Bong Florendo called on the public to review and sign the “Dapat Isa Lang” movement’s online petition aiming to gather 7.5 million signatures for an anti-political dynasty referendum.
Florendo explained that the proposal prohibits relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity from holding public office simultaneously.
He added that if verified by the Commission on Elections and approved by a majority vote in a national referendum, the measure will take effect two weeks following official publication.
