The Catholic Church supports a congressional proposal to ban social media for children aged 12 and below.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, catechist Brother Wilson Amad said the measure would help parents and teachers guide children away from online distractions.
He also expressed readiness to submit a position paper to the Department of Education advocating for a total ban on cellphones in schools, especially in elementary levels.
Amad emphasized that parental voices and support are crucial to encourage government action for the welfare of children.
