Churches are facing a major challenge in implementing measures for the welfare of young people, according to Brother Wilson Amad, a catechist. He noted the deep sorrow felt by the Church over the rising cases of children in conflict with the law.
Amad emphasized that children are regarded as treasures of the Church, but there is growing concern about the changing behavior of the new generation.
In response, the Church continues to provide services such as counseling, catechism, and safe shelters through Bahay Pag-asa.
In Cagayan de Oro, the St. Ignatius Care for the Poor program helps feed, teach, and care for children facing legal and family problems.
