Acting City Information Officer Jade Adeser clarified that viral infographics declaring a two-day class suspension in Cagayan de Oro are fake and unauthorized.
Adeser stated that Mayor Klarex Uy has not issued a new suspension order, as consultations remain ongoing with the Local Health Board, Local School Board, and DepEd to evaluate solutions for rising heat index levels.
To streamline local response, the mayor is considering delegating class suspension authority directly to individual school heads, enabling tailored decisions as local temperatures peak at 42°C.
