The civic military parade and marching band competition on August 27 is scheduled to start early at 5:30 AM due to extreme weather heat.
According to City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Marky Jalapadan, this decision was made following recommendations from the local school board and local health board because of a very high heat index expected to reach approximately 40 degrees Celsius.
He added that the event must conclude before 10:00 AM because outdoor activities are prohibited from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Consequently, the office appealed for public cooperation to ensure a smooth and joyful festival celebration.
