Petitioner Atty. Hillary Olga Reserva clarified that civil society groups have the legitimate right to express their position before the Supreme Court through a petition-in-intervention, after questions arose about their role in the impeachment complaints proceedings handled by the House Committee on Justice.

In an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo, Reserva explained that their filing was not a duplication of Atty. Israelito Torreon’s original petition but a means to add the perspective of the people’s sector.

She emphasized that the petition-in-intervention allows interested parties to join the case, ensuring civil society’s voice is included in the Court’s discussion and decision on the impeachment complaints.
