Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ) representative Yadz Gonzales announced public demonstrations in Iligan City to oppose private sector involvement in rehabilitating the Agus-Pulangi Hydropower Complex.
Gonzales emphasized that Mindanao residents must protect the state-owned facility as the island’s main source of renewable energy.
He expressed concern that privatizing energy infrastructure will increase electricity rates for residential consumers, adding that the rally will also protest rising utility costs.
