The appearance of Vice President Sara Duterte’s security head, Colonel Lachica, could potentially serve as a trojan horse in her impeachment trial.
According to former Bayan Muna Partylist Representative Atty. Kaloi Zarate, Lachica and the Vice President are the only two people who know the true trajectory of the 500 million pesos in confidential funds.
Because of this, senators are expected to summon the official as a witness to uncover the true story behind the spending of the funds.
In line with this, the lawyer cautioned the public not to blindly trust liquidation receipts named under questionable individuals such as Mary Grace Piattos and Andy Lim, in order to ensure fairness and justice.
