CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will collaborate with the military and security forces to ensure safety in the region for the upcoming 2025 elections.
Comelec Region 10 Director, Atty. Renato Magbutay, stated that they will wait until the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) is completed before engaging with these agencies again.
This decision follows an analysis of their previous meetings in areas with intense political rivalry.
Notably, the 2022 elections in the region were conducted without any major violent incidents.
