ABC Liga ng mga Barangay President and Councilor Marlo L. Tabac is pushing for amendments to Section 614 of the city ordinance to ensure peace and proper rest for Cagayan de Oro residents.
Under his proposal, the use of karaoke, videoke, and other loud sound systems in establishments would be prohibited from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Tabac explained that the measure aims to protect public health by enforcing stricter soundproofing requirements and imposing penalties on establishments that repeatedly violate the rules.
The Committee on Barangay Affairs has recommended referring the proposal to the Committee on Public Safety and Trade and Commerce for further study and appropriate action.
