The Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) announced ongoing preparations to address possible effects of El Niño on the city’s water supply.
Dr. Gerry Caño, COWD Board Chairman, told Bombo Radyo that a committee has been formed to focus on the needs of communities most vulnerable to the dry season.
He explained that based on past El Niño events declared by PAGASA, water levels have not dropped to critical levels as long as operations are managed properly.
Still, Caño stressed the importance of continuous monitoring to prevent potential shortages in the coming months.
COWD assured residents that coordination and readiness measures will remain in place to secure a stable water supply across Cagayan de Oro.
