The Department of Education in Cagayan de Oro has enforced Department Order No. 6, series of 2026, to ensure safe and child-friendly school environments.

According to Alvic Marie Francisco of DepEd CDO’s Child Protection Unit, the order aims to guide school administrators in addressing bullying cases through clearer procedures.

The anti-bullying policy in schools has now been strengthened, requiring every school head to print and orient parents and students about the law.

Unlike previous policies, the new order specifies distinct levels of violations, giving schools greater authority in enforcing discipline.

DepEd CDO continues to monitor schools to ensure full implementation of this new policy, safeguarding the welfare and protection of all learners.
