The Department of Education (DepEd) instructed schools to restrict student and teacher activities to indoor spaces due to elevated heat indices and airborne haze across the city.

DepEd Medical Officer Dr. Mark Miso confirmed the advisory, urging school administrators to implement safety precautions against extreme heat and air pollution risks.

The directive temporarily suspends outdoor routines for school nurses, teachers, and students in the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program during peak daytime hours.

Health officials advised wearing face masks indoors to help protect against respiratory and cardiovascular ailments.
