The Department of Education (DepEd) Region 10 has heightened security measures across Northern Mindanao schools to prevent campus shootings and violent crime.

DepEd Region 10 Chief Education Supervisor Dr. Ricardo Dragon announced key interventions, including the deployment of metal detectors, perimeter fence inspections, and CCTV installation.

The official emphasized that repairing compromised boundary fencing is a priority to prevent unauthorized entry and protect students from potential harm.

Furthermore, the agency urged barangays and local municipal leaders to assign additional security personnel to address the shortage of institutional security positions in schools.
