Volt Bohol of the August Twenty-One Movement criticized the dismissal of the case involving the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the Marcos family.
He described the ruling as a grave insult to those who fought for democracy, especially since 38 years have passed since the downfall of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s regime.
Bohol pointed out the timing of the decision, noting that it came while the dictator’s son, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is now in office.
Because of this, many have sarcastically referred to the dismissal as one of the “achievements” of the current administration.
In closing, Bohol stressed that while the outcome may not be surprising, it deserves serious attention from the public.
