Provincial Director Jesusa Abear of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental assured that their office is continuously monitoring the prices of school supplies as classes reopen.

She revealed that 115 types of items or Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) are being closely checked to ensure they remain within the Suggested Retail Price (SRP).

Among the products being monitored are notebooks, intermediate pads, writing pads, and ballpens sold in stores. The official added that some of these items are even priced lower than the mandated SRP.

Director Abear explained that this monitoring effort is a measure to protect consumers, especially parents, in purchasing school essentials.
