Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Finance Chairman Romel Maslog assured the public that essential social services, hospital operations, and medicine procurement will continue without interruption despite the DBM’s findings on the 2026 budget.
Maslog clarified that statutory health and social welfare expenditures are classified as essential operating expenses under re-enacted budget rules.
He reiterated that while new capital contracts remain restricted, the finance committee is coordinating with oversight agencies to resolve the technical issues.
